Over six months, you will engage in four virtual 90-minute executive sessions and at least one three-and-a-half-hour in-person session focused on design thinking, high-performing teams, disruptive innovation, and strategic persuasion. You’ll also be placed on an Action Team with peers from across the field, working together to turn ideas into action.
Throughout the program, your Action Team will move from defining a problem to designing, testing, and refining a working prototype. Along the way, you’ll be supported by individual leadership coaching and consulting, as well as a nationwide network of peers. The program culminates in a July Solutions Showcase, where you and your Action Team will present your innovation, share lessons learned, and outline your strategies for putting your solution into practice. Through a combination of immersive executive learning, hands-on application, individual coaching and consulting, and peer collaboration, you’ll build new leadership capabilities while developing needed solutions.
Participants are attendees of the Human Services Summit and senior-level, health and human services executives, who aspire to improve outcomes now while designing what’s next. Given that Medicaid beneficiaries often navigate human services programs and systems, this year's Lab is designed for each leader to participate as a small team with one or two of their policy or program leaders (such as their Medicaid lead and an additional program lead) to advance a more integrated approach to supporting residents through policy changes. Regardless of title, every participant is a Chief Transformation Officer in practice, a leader driving toward equity, opportunity, and stronger outcomes for the people, families, and communities they serve.
The Leaders Activation Lab is an invitation-only program for senior health and human services executives. Other applicants will be reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis, depending in part on available space. This program is supported by the hosting and collaborating organizations, so there is no tuition fee to attend. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and other related personal expenses for the in-person session.
